At the 10th Pro.PR conference, which brings together experts in the field of public relations from Southeast Europe and this year took place between 22th and 24th March in Maribor, the award “Vision Manager” for visionary leadership and creativity went to Jože Mermal, the president of BTC Management Board.
It is the first time that the organizer awarded the “Vision Manager” award, the main criterion for choosing the winner being visionary creativity which finds expression in project development, importantly contributing to the positive perception of a company in a specific country. Justifying their decision, the organizers stated that Jože Mermal, with his enthusiasm, vision and clear communication strategy, managed to transform BTC into one of the most successful Slovenian companies. He created the brands BTC City, Water City Atlantis and Crystal Palace, all of which became widely-known brands Slovenia can be proud of, through entwining PR activities, advertising and promotion.
The annual Pro.PR conference, which takes place in a different country each year, was first held in 2003. This year’s conference was visited by about 180 participants from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Austria and Kosovo.
BTC City Ljubljana is annually visited by 21 million customers from Slovenia and abroad. In two decades of its existence, the former public storage facilities area became the biggest recreational, cultural, entertainment, shopping and business centre in Slovenia, which can easily compete with similar centres in Europe.
