Strategic projectsIn August 2014 Ljubljana hosted a true cycling fairytale in the form of the UCI Amateur Road World Championships. The decision to entrust Slovenia with hosting duties was mostly due to the excellent organisation of the Franja BTC City marathon. The effort and forethought put into the Franja Marathon was recognised by the UCI (International Cycling Union) and rewarded with the opportunity to host the Amateur Road World Championships.
